Ville and I covered the end of term ceremony for Stockholm International School (SiS) in June. I can’t help but love these kind of events: it brings back so many memories from my own school days and it’s a privilege to document these young lives.
The majority of the work was candid, documentary shots but we did take a few posed shots of the students as they celebrated the end of term.
One of my favourite photos from the day was actually this shot. Sure, it’s a hastily grabbed portrait but I like it all the same.
Smiling right into the camera, she seems happy to be graduating but has one eye on the future. Or at least, that’s how I see it.
Sure, marketers and photographers might like documentary shots, but sometimes mums and dads just want to see their son or daughter smiling into the camera!
I have to admit, I love a good posed portrait too!
